Tooth-Colored Fillings
Fillings are an essential part of oral health for children and adults. Tooth decay left untreated can spread to the tooth's nerve, eventually killing the tooth. If we find that you have a cavity, we will clean out the decay and restore the tooth with a tooth-colored filling.
Tooth-colored fillings are made from a mixture of quartz and plastic that we will blend to match your tooth shade. Recent studies have found tooth-colored fillings superior to amalgam (metal) fillings, because tooth-colored fillings don't expand and contract with hot and cold temperatures, which causes cracks, breaks, and tooth sensitivity. Tooth-colored fillings are also more esthetic than amalgams, and the composite mixture will not corrode or turn teeth black.
To learn more about tooth-colored fillings, schedule you consultation with Dr. Dennis Calvano or Dr. Daniel La Grua. Our Verona dental office serves residents of Staunton, Augusta County, and Fishersville.
