Teeth Whitening
If you're looking for a way to dramatically improve your appearance without undergoing surgery or spending thousands of dollars, you may consider teeth whitening. According to recent studies, a brighter smile will make you appear more intelligent, successful, and friendly.
Our take-home teeth whitening system gradually lightens teeth up to 10 shades. When you come in for your appointment, we will take impressions of your teeth and create custom molds that will keep the teeth whitening solution flush against all of your teeth. Wear the trays for a few hours each day, and in about two weeks, you will notice dramatic results.
Common Questions about Teeth Whitening
Q. What's the difference between over-the-counter and professional teeth whitening?
A. Professional teeth whitening is backed by years of research and has the ADA seal of approval. With over-the-counter whiteners you're at risk of spotting and over-bleaching. In addition, the store-bought whiteners typically only lighten teeth about three shades. Our bleaching agents powerfully, safely, and efficiently lighten all of the teeth up to 10 shades.
Q. Does teeth whitening cause tooth sensitivity?
A. Some patients experience transitory sensitivity after professional teeth whitening. Any sensitivity experienced typically subsides within a few days. Our take-home teeth whitening solution is pH balanced, which means it will not harm your teeth, gums, or mouth.
Q. Will professional teeth whitening remove tetracycline stains?
A. Teeth whitening is most successful when dealing with yellow, brown, or orange tinges caused by aging, coffee, tea, and smoking. Gray tones that result from fluorosis, tetracycline, and other medications don't respond as well to teeth whitening. Dr. Calvano or Dr. La Grua will examine your specific case to determine whether your teeth will benefit from teeth whitening. As an alternative, they may recommend porcelain veneers.
To learn if teeth whitening is right for you, schedule you consultation with Dr. Dennis Calvano or Dr. Daniel La Grua. Our Verona dental office serves residents of Staunton, Augusta County, and Fishersville.
